Comforting presence
There's not nearly as much crime downtown as many Dallasites believe, but even the perception of crime can cost a lot.
So to take a bite out of the perception, the businesses have pooled resources to fund a safety patrol to discourage
panhandling, drunkenness and other undesirable behaviors.
The perception of downtown must improve, and the patrol is a smart, direct way to improve it.
